RYN Motors has successfully completed the first shakedown drives of the FP3, marking a major milestone in bringing the platform to life and validating its performance in real-world conditions.
Shakedown testing represents a critical phase in vehicle development, where months of engineering, design, and CAD work are put to the test simultaneously. For its initial runs, the FP3 was equipped with a GSX-R1000 setup to validate core systems, including chassis dynamics, suspension behavior, and steering response, ahead of integrating the production powertrain.
From the very first drive, the FP3 exceeded expectations.
The vehicle demonstrated an immediate level of stability and composure rarely seen at this stage of development. The chassis felt planted, predictable, and confidence-inspiring, indicating that the underlying engineering foundation is performing at a high level far earlier than anticipated.
The platform weighed in at approximately 1,030 lbs without fiberglass body panels, keeping development on track for the targeted 1,140 lb production weight.
With initial system validation complete, RYN Motors is now advancing to the next phase of development with the installation of the Gen 3 Hayabusa engine. The same powertrain that will be used in production FP3 units. This will lead into full track testing, where the vehicle will undergo further performance validation and refinement.
The results of the first shakedown provide a strong signal that the FP3 platform is not only functioning as intended, but progressing ahead of expectations as it moves toward production.
This milestone marks a significant transition for RYN Motors, as the FP3 continues its evolution from development into a fully realized performance platform.
