RYN Motors has reached another significant milestone in the development of the FP3, with recent track testing demonstrating substantial gains in performance through continuous engineering refinement.
Rather than pursuing lap time through major one-time changes, the development team has focused on an iterative process of testing, analyzing data, redesigning components, and validating improvements on track. This approach has resulted in consistent performance gains with each successive test session.
The FP3 began its track testing program with lap times in the 1:29 range. Following a series of suspension refinements, including a complete redesign and reconstruction of the front control arms, lap times improved to the 1:27s. Continued adjustments to chassis setup, suspension geometry, and overall vehicle balance reduced times further into the 1:25s, and eventually culminating in a best lap of 1:22.29 during the most recent outing.
Equally important has been the evolution of the vehicle’s driving characteristics. As development has progressed, the FP3 has become increasingly composed, predictable, and confidence inspiring. Each round of refinement has produced a platform that feels more dialed in, allowing drivers to push the car harder while maintaining consistency and control.
For comparison, an average driver in a Porsche GT3 typically records lap times in the 1:23 to 1:24 range at the same circuit. Achieving a 1:22.29 places the FP3 among exceptionally capable track-focused vehicles while development is still ongoing.
Perhaps the most impressive aspect of these results is how they have been achieved.
Every lap recorded to date has been completed without the production aerodynamic package installed. The current performance is derived entirely from mechanical grip, chassis balance, suspension geometry, and the FP3’s lightweight construction. The aerodynamic elements designed for production have yet to contribute any additional downforce or performance.
With aerodynamic development still ahead, RYN Motors expects the FP3 to continue improving as the production vehicle approaches its final specification. The latest results reinforce the effectiveness of the platform’s engineering philosophy and demonstrate that the FP3 is already delivering an exceptional level of performance before one of its most significant performance systems has even been introduced.
